Do you hear sharpening knives and chainsaws roaring in the night? Then hope to be fast enough to outrun them… or lucky enough to die quickly.
VHS is a game dedicated to horror movies of all subgenres! Whichever one is your favourite, there is a VHS for you! VHS mixes typical rpg elements with boardgame ones, like tokens and boards.
As a role playing game, players take the scenes as characters whose objective is to survive the Monsters. The GM is as per usual called to referee and resolve the various gameplay events, interactions with non player characters (Support Cast) and of course, the Monsters!
Like a boardgame, however, VHS uses a map, or Main Set (a swamp, a village lost in the mountains, a colonial mansion, etc) and tokens to track the characters’ movements and anything of interest they may uncover.
Each VHS box contains:
- 170+ pages rulebook (+10 premade Films)
- 4 Main Sets
- 40 Tokens
- 5 Premade Characters
- 5 Premade Monsters
